Above is Stroudsburg United Soccer Club development pyramid. Our club is the only club in the Monroe and surrounding counties that offers a complete development package. From our developmental stages, to the professional levels with the USL.  Our current and older members have worked long and hard for many years to accomplish this system and we welcome you and your young players to our program. For your understanding below there is a brief description of each stage, please feel free to contact us if you have nay questions.

Stage1- SUSC Developmental Program (U5-U7): The need for this age group is to express their own autonomy; to build relationships with teammates and begin building confidence with the soccer ball. The aspect of fun and activity is prevalent. The proposed exercises are with the soccer ball and are physical-motor directed. In this age group the competitive games are absolutely absent.  Program is monitored and guided by our Player Development Director, who is United States Soccer certified along with state certified.

Stage 2- SUSC Pre-Travel Program (U8-U9) in this age group, development is more dominant. In this age group children will learn their first technical gestures and the fundamentals of the soccer game.  The coordinative capabilities are imperative along with the technical aspect of the game.  All the players must play in rotation so that no one player feels they are a starter.  This program was adopted to prepare our young players and parents for travel soccer. Currently we are developing Inter-Club matches and a small tournament to give all members a feel for our next stage. Program is monitored and guided by our Player Development Director, who is United States Soccer certified along with state certified.

Stage 3- SUSC CLASSIC TRAVEL PROGRAM (U10-U18) at this stage the club has open tryouts to form their teams. Tryouts are usually held in May into June. Depending on the age group there are 13 to 18 players on a roster. When the team is formed they practice two times a week and have a match usually on Saturdays or Sundays. There are usually 10 matches held per season (Fall/Spring) 5 of those matches are played home (Snydersville) and 5 are played away (as far as 1 hr distance). Teams usually compete in 2 tournaments a year. Coaches must have at least a USSF “E” (basic) certification from the state (USSF “D” License, U-15 & above).

Many of our players participate in the State Olympic development programs and regional programs. Players are showcased at college events to increases there chances of college of obtaining a college education.  Our coaches are staff coaches appointed by the Technical Director and must have at least a C certification from United States Soccer along with playing and coaching experience. Teams in this program attend 5 to 10 tournaments a year, depending on the age group.
